Crowns and Bridges

If you need a solution to damaged or missing teeth, our crowns and bridges in Tyler can help restore your smile. Crowns and bridges are restorative treatments that bring back the function, shape, and appearance of your teeth. These treatments repair damaged teeth and fill gaps left by missing teeth, helping you chew, speak, and smile with confidence.

A crown is a cap that covers a damaged tooth, providing strength and restoring its shape, size, and appearance. Crowns can also go on top of dental implants to replace missing teeth. A bridge, on the other hand, fills the gap created by one or more missing teeth. It typically consists of two crowns placed on the teeth adjacent to the gap, with a false tooth (or teeth) in between. Crowns and bridges work together to restore your smile and improve your bite so you can feel confident about your teeth again.

The Advantages of Crowns and Bridges

There are many reasons why crowns and bridges are beneficial:

  • Restores Function: Crowns and bridges restore the ability to chew and speak normally, especially when you have missing or damaged teeth.
  • Enhances Appearance: These treatments improve the appearance of your smile, making your teeth look natural and attractive.
  • Prevents Further Damage: Crowns protect damaged teeth from further decay or damage, avoiding the need for more extensive procedures later.
  • Improves Bite: Bridges help restore your bite, making it easier to chew and speak without discomfort or difficulty.
  • Long-lasting Solution: Crowns and bridges are durable, often lasting many years with proper care.

What to Expect When Getting Crowns and Bridges

The process for crowns and bridges is relatively simple and involves a few steps to ensure the best results. Here’s how it typically goes:

Initial Consultation

  • Your journey begins with a consultation at Legacy Trails Dental. Dr. Morgan will examine your teeth and gums and determine if crowns or bridges are the right treatment for you. If necessary, our staff will take Digital X-rays to get a closer look at the damaged or missing teeth.

Design and Preparation

  • Once we’ve decided on the proper treatment, Dr. Morgan will prepare your tooth (or teeth) for the crown or bridge. For a crown, he will reshape the tooth to make room for the cap. For a bridge, he will prepare the adjacent teeth to hold the crowns. We may take an impression of your teeth to ensure the final restoration fits perfectly.

Temporary Restoration

  • While the lab creates your permanent crown or bridge, we will provide a temporary restoration to protect your tooth and restore function.

Placement of Permanent Restoration

  • Once your custom crown or bridge is ready, you’ll return to Legacy Trails Dental for placement. Dr. Morgan will ensure the fit and appearance are perfect and make any necessary adjustments to ensure comfort and function.

Final Adjustments and Care

  • After placing the crown or bridge, Dr. Morgan will provide instructions on caring for your new restoration. Regular check-ups will help ensure that your crown or bridge remains in excellent condition for years to come.

Ongley Family

"Five Stars! Our family have been patients of Charlie Morgan DDS for over 25 years, and we recommend him highly. He is a very skilled dentist who really cares for and about his patients. His charges are very reasonable especially in view of the outstanding care you receive. We probably have 20 or more dentist offices located within five miles of our house, but we willingly travel 70 miles each way just to have Charlie take care of our dental work. If you've had bad experiences with other dentists, or are afraid of the dentist, this is the place for you."

Michael T.

Arrington Family

"Charlie Morgan has been our dentist since 1999. We have depended on his staff of professionals for cleanings, fillings, crowns and root canals. We've always been very pleased with his recommendations. Making the decision to drive from Plano to Charlie's new office in Tyler was a no brainer. We look forward to seeing Charlie and Melissa, the dental hygienist, for our next 6th month check up."
